im dwell magazin waren gegenstände auf dem arbeitstisch walter gropius' fotografisch dokumentiert..

hand, fuß, ei  und donaukiesel

einige davon hatte er von seinem ehemaligen studenten carl auböck (1900-1957) geschenkt bekommen oder in der werkstätte in wien gekauft gehabt.

einer davon ist der in leder eingenähte donau kieselstein . diese steine finden wir in der gegend des kritzendorfer strombades.

 2009 haben wir den stein wieder in die kollektion aufgenommen.

after having been carl auböck's principal on the weimar bauhaus the two guys befriended years later and gropius purchased some of the foot, hand, egg and pebble  pieces or got them as a gift.
since the 1940ties the pebbles we find on the banks of the river danube near the sportive resort of "kritzendorf" in the north of vienna.

nevertheless, his kind eye rested upon the pieces during the years of his work.

2009 the werkstätte decided  to relaunch the important piece of auböck's ready made v- effect design ideas.
